Celebrating the Sweet Anticipation of Baby

There are sessions that feel meaningful because of the milestone being captured, and then there are sessions that feel meaningful because of the people involved. Cameron and Sydney’s maternity session was both.

These two are some of my sweetest personal friends, so being able to document this season of their lives was incredibly special to me. As they prepare to welcome their first baby, the excitement and anticipation between them could not have been more evident. What makes their story even more fun is that they’ve chosen to keep the baby’s gender a surprise — something that made the whole season feel even more full of wonder and anticipation.

A Beautiful Evening by the Lakes

We spent the evening walking around the beautiful lakes and peaceful nature surrounding Grand Rapids. Northern Minnesota has such a special kind of natural beauty, and it created the perfect backdrop for a maternity session that felt relaxed, joyful, and full of life.

The entire evening felt effortless. Cameron and Sydney were so natural together, and their excitement for their baby made every moment feel genuine. We wandered along the water, soaking in the quiet beauty of the lakes and letting the session unfold naturally as we talked, laughed, and captured moments along the way.

And of course, no summer evening adventure would be complete without a stop for ice cream. That little pause in the session added such a fun and playful element, perfectly reflecting the lighthearted joy these two bring wherever they go.

A Session Shared With Family

What made the evening even more meaningful was that my husband and our sweet daughter joined us as we walked around the lakes. Instead of feeling like a typical photo session, it felt more like an evening spent together with friends.
